    • Shipment and Customs Information: Cargo descriptions, commodity details, declared values, country of origin, Harmonized System (HS) codes, and other shipment-related data required for transportation and customs clearance.
    • Billing and Financial Information: Billing address and payment details necessary to process invoices for services rendered.
    • Government-Issued Reference Numbers: Business Number (BN), importer/exporter registration numbers, and similar identifiers required by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) or other regulatory bodies.
    We do not collect sensitive personal information (such as government identification card numbers, health information, or financial account credentials) beyond what is strictly required by law or customs regulation.
  3. Purposes of Collection and Use
    Personal information is collected and used solely for the following purposes:
    • Arranging and coordinating the international transportation of freight on behalf of clients.
    • Preparing and submitting customs documentation and declarations to the CBSA and equivalent authorities in other jurisdictions.

    • Regulatory and Government Authorities: We are required by law to submit personal and shipment information to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Transport Canada, and equivalent authorities in destination countries as part of the customs and import/export compliance process.
    • Legal Requirements: We may disclose personal information where required by a valid court order, subpoena, or applicable law, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Nexus Global Cargo Inc., our clients, or the public.
    • Business Transfers: In the event of a corporate merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, personal information may be transferred to a successor entity, subject to equivalent privacy protections and advance notice to affected individuals.
  5. Business Communications — Telephone and SMS
    Nexus Global Cargo Inc. uses a business VoIP telephone number to communicate with clients and partners regarding freight bookings, shipment status updates, customs matters, and general service inquiries. We may contact you by phone call or SMS text message using this number strictly for transactional and service-related purposes.
    5.1 Types of Messages We Send
    All SMS communications sent by Nexus Global Cargo Inc. are transactional in nature and directly related to services you have engaged us to provide. These include:
    • Shipment booking confirmations and updates.
    • Customs clearance status notifications.
    • Delivery and arrival advisories.
    • Invoice and payment notices.
    • Responses to direct service inquiries.
    We do not send unsolicited marketing or promotional SMS messages.
    5.2 Consent
    We send SMS messages only to clients or their authorized representatives who have provided prior express consent, either through a signed service agreement, a written request, or by initiating contact with us via SMS. Consent is voluntary and may be withdrawn at any time.
    5.3 Opt-Out
    You may opt out of SMS communications from Nexus Global Cargo Inc. at any time by replying STOP to any message we send. You will receive one final confirmation of your unsubscription, after which no further SMS messages will be sent to your number. Opting out of SMS does not affect your ability to receive service communications by email or telephone.

    5.5 No Third-Party Sharing of Phone Numbers
